Product Description

During the War of Liberation, several Picti destroyers were modified to operate as mine warfare vessels. Their role would be to clear paths through Draconian minefields for their compatriots, and to lay and maintain their own minefields to defend territory once retaken.

To this end, the graser suite was replaced entirely with point-defense mounts except for the single ventral turret. The fusion guns were removed to make way for a trio of gravitic tractor emplacements to manipulate mines (and other objects) with, and the fighter bays were converted to a quartet of minelaying racks.

While never meant to engage enemy ships directly, these scrappy little vessels would occasionally find themselves in the midst of combat anyway. At such times they would often use their powerful gravitic projectors to pin enemy vessels in place. Their escorts or other nearby vessels would then engage with graser and fusion fire.
