Product Description
HO Scale (1:87.1)
Scaled from the actual 1946 blueprint this model of the cable house at the Great Northern depot in Scenic, WA is a truthful representation of the real building. Specific details are the 6-pane window, 5-panel door, correctly located cable holes in the back wall and the concrete stairs with undercut treads.
This concrete buidling was used to route overhead wires from the Scenic depot to the West Portal of the Cascade Tunnel. This had become necessary when the US 2 bridge was built over Scenic siding.
The model is a one-piece moulding and comes without a floor. If desired a floor can easily be added with a small piece of styrene. A ledge is present inside to glue the floor against.
Offered in two choices of plastic:
- White Processed Versatile Plastic (most economic): for a somewhat grainy appearance which mimics weathered concrete.
- Smooth Fine Detail Plastic: for a smooth surface and more crisp details.
