The Hydrans are an unusual species that live on the far side of the Klingon Empire, along the edge of the galaxy. They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans, and were conquered by those empires at one point, only to drive the invaders out decades later. Hydrans breathe methane and live on cold type-S gas giants on silicate continents floating on liquid methane oceans.
The Guild shipyard that produced Pegasus-class ships (separate from the military shipyard that built warships) produced four of these carriers during the General War. The design was available (but not built) before the war. More information is available about these four carriers than about most Hydran ship classes.
- Winged Victory fought in the Battle of the Firewall and was destroyed by the Lyrans in the 10th year of the General War.
- Winged Revenge was used for ambush raids until caught and destroyed by the Klingons in the seventh year of the General War.
- Winged Fury fought mostly against the Lyrans. Damaged by Lyran gunboats in the ninth year of the General War, it was partially repaired and used thereafter to train pilots of heavy fighters.
- Winged Havoc fought mostly against the Lyrans. It was converted to carry Stinger-T heavy fighters. After being damaged two years later, it was converted to carry gunboats. It was eventually lost on a raid behind Klingon lines.
The ship has five shuttle bays; three bays each hold four fighters, while the remaining two bays each hold one admin shuttle. The standard fighter group was nine Stinger-2s, two Stinger-Hs, and one electronic warfare Stinger-E.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
