Product Description

This is the Pamban Bridge. It's a railroad bridge which connects the town of Rameswaram on the Pamban Island to the Mainland India. Opened on Feb 24 1914, it was the first sea ridge, and was the longest sea bridge until the opening of the Bandra-Worli sea link in 2010. The rail Bridge is, for most part a conventional bridge resting on concrete piers, but has a double-leaf bascule section midway, which can be raised to let ships and barges pass. this is just one section of the bridge in Z scale to complete the bascule you need two of these and several accessories piece to complete. this is in Z scale 1:220. The total lenght of the real bridge is 6,776 feet and 41 feet above sea level.
