Product Description

In algebraic geometry a lemniscate stands for a number of figure eight shaped curves.

The word is derived from the latin «lemniscatus», which means «decorated with ribbons». In 1694 the mathematician Johann Bernoulli studied the lemniscate of the Cassini ovals, which is now known as the lemniscate of Bernoulli.

The form is today commonly used as the symbol for infinity.
