Product Description
Original length: 290m (Estimated, based on the size of the nacelles compared to the Heavy Cruiser)
Scale: 1/7000
Print orientation for Detail Plastic: Top up
Mounting hole: None
Cost reduction: 3 items in one file. 1 complete ship and 1 with the auxiliary craft detached. If you just need one type or a different amount, PM me. Although in-universe it's meant to be, the separated version does not fit together to form a complete ship!

Update April '21: I moved the upper wings up a little, so they don't intersect the lower wings any more and thus making it more credible that the upper part can actually detach. I also changed the shape of the hole the small ship is resting in, to better resemble the shape of the smaller ship's underside.

This is a non-canon Gorn Battlecruiser or Battleship, based on the Gorn design seen in the remastered episode of TOS: "Arena". I scaled the ship, so that the warp nacelles are the same size as on the original ship from "Arena". I like to think, they share this same components. Comparable to the Constitution and the Miranda Class, that also shares the same hull and nacelles just in another configuration.
I also always thought, why this ship uses a second pair of wings for the upper warp nacelles instead of the dual mount like on the canon Heavy Cruiser from TOS-R. My solution is, they are there for a reason (form follows function), namely the upper half of the ship can detach and act as an independent craft with its own pair of warp nacelles. This would also explain the otherwise redundant third pair of nacelles, so the main hull still has a backup set of nacelles if the auxiliary craft is detached. The detached ship is about in between the sizes of the Heavy and the Light Cruiser. It could therefore also be used as a Medium Cruiser.
