Quad 33 Balance Control

This is a replacement for the balance control slider and lever in the Quad 33 preamplifier.

Fit by removing the case (2 screws), the three tone control knobs (1 grubscrew each) and the front panel (4 screws). It may or may not be necessary to remove the volume control knob for the next step. Then the old balance control will slide out to the left, and the new one slides in from the left into the same slot. Use the existing metal lever if still intact, otherwise remove it if present and insert the new plastic one last over the balance pot shaft, with the peg pointing inwards to engage the slot in the slider. A 6mm M3 grub screw should be inserted into the grubscrew hole and tightened with a 1.5mm Allen key until the point at which there is just no play in the slider is reached. Do not overtighten, as you will strip the thread. The lever should be vertical when the flattened sides of the pot shaft are vertical.
