1:24 Gn15 Fowler Style Platform Wagon

This Gn15 model is inspired by the depictions of early estate cars available in 16" gauge from John Fowler & Co. of Leeds, UK. One of the variations included the use of fixed axleboxes, a variation recommended for wet, industrial and colonial sites where the spring and bearing types of axleboxes would often fail due to inadequate maintenance. The couplers are permanently attached hook and loop style. The loop may arrive locked in place by remnant 3D printing wax which can be removed by use of hot tap water and/or solvents. This model is designed to use Hornby PN# R8234 4-Hole 14.1mm Wheelsets. These are a reasonable approximation of the 14" wheels found on the prototype. The four axleboxes are attached to the underside with short sprues and should be cut free and then glued into place aligned with the guide holes. The center of the underframe includes two divided pockets where lead shot or equivalent weights can be glued into place to weight the car for operation.
