Product Description
This is the company designed smoke stack for South Pacific Coast Locomotives No. 2 through 17. The stack was developed in 1882 and replaced the Radley-Hunter stacks on Locomotives No. 2 through 13. Locomotives No. 14 through 17 had "Company stacks" built by Baldwin and supplied with the locomotives. The stack was probably designed by Evan L. Reese, Master Mechanic. When he left the SPC in 1884 he became Master Mechanic for the NPC and used the stack on that railroad.
