Product Description

This model is based on a detailed Elco drawing for all 80' boats. Quantity used per boat is 4 (PT 731-760), 6 (PT 103-196 & 314-367), or 8 (PT other except PT 565-624). A deck arrangement drawing for PT 565-624 was not available but images of PT 588 show 4 cleats in an arrangement similar to PT 731-760.

Included are placement jigs for angle and inboard depth. A slot in one of them indicates scale thickness for sanding the mounting lugs which have been thickened to meet 3D printing minimums. Note that 2 different bolt sizes were used and are included. Larger bolts were used on the aft and amidships cleats.

Preparation
The first step is to clean all parts thoroughly. Handle very carefully as the plastic is brittle. Please see the guide and links here: http://www.pt103.com/3D_Printed_PT_Boat_Parts.html. For best painting results be sure to follow cleaning with a UV cure from a lamp with the correct output, or the sun.

Locations, to center of cleats, based on scaled deck arrangement drawings
Measurements are given in full scale and are taken from Elco drawings.
Forward:
At frame 18 = 275" aft of foremost point.
4 3/4" inboard of outboard face of gun'l guard.
Angle: 30 degrees to outboard face of gun'l guard.

Amidships:
7 1/2" aft of frame 45 = 629" aft of foremost point.
4 1/2" inboard of outboard face of gun'l guard.
Angle: 30 degrees to outboard face of gun'l guard.

Stern:
6" forward of outboard face of aft guard.
9" inboard of outboard face of gun'l guard.
Angle: Parallel with outboard face of aft guard.

Notes on cleats for boats 372 and on, locations and angles are similar to the earlier boats except as noted.

The deck arrangement drawing for PT 372-383, 546, & 548-551 shows an additional cleat. Location:
10" aft of frame 5 = 103" aft of foremost point.
5" inboard of outboard face of gun'l guard.
Angle: Parallel with outboard face of gun'l guard.

The deck arrangement drawing for PT 547, 486-545, 552-563 & 731-760 also shows the additional cleat in the same location.

The deck arrangement drawing for PT 731-760 shows the forward (at frame 18) and aft cleats are replaced by mooring bitts in different locations. The forward bitt is labeled as being for re-fueling at sea.
