Product Description
Thomas Peckett and Sons took over the locomotive business of Fox, Walker and Company in 1880, based at the Atlas Engine Works, Bristol. They produced their last of over 1500 steam engines some 78 years later.

Fox, Walker and Company had begun trading in 1864, building four and six-coupled saddle tank engines. Their B Class 0-6-0 saddle-tanks evolved into Peckett's B1, father to the B2 and grandfather to the B3.

The B2 0-6-0 design was introduced in 1905, featuring a 10ft wheelbase and overall length just over 25ft, making it ideal for shunting heavy trains in restricted spaces such as coal mines and factories. Several of these remained in service until the 1970s.

The B3 0-6-0 design was introduced in 1933, replacing the earlier B2. From 1942, triangular front windows were fitted to new B3 locos.

NOTES
There are five different prints available, two based on Minitrix chasses and three on N Drive Productions chasses.

Minitrix mechanisms are very old now, but slow running can be improved greatly by fitting Tramfabriek MTDRT3 12v DC coreless motors, which can also be configured for DCC operation. Minitrix buffers can be fitted to these models; push these out from behind the original buffer beams using the flat face of a screwdriver.

N Drive chasses can be ordered configured for DCC operation.
