A06 N Nn3 working link & pin couplers wrought iron

48 N scale working drawheads for link and pin couplers. This style was made of wrought iron bars and rivetted together. Common before cheaper, high quality cast iron came along in the 1860s and used long afterward.

Body mount using #00 screw in same location as a MicroTrains or similar coupler. A shim may be required for some models. They extend from car end about 3.4mm. This length seems to be easier to work with for Athearn/MDC and others, for MT cars the shorter A06c coupler for better looks.

These can accommodate links up to 1mm wide and will operate if one has good eyes and tweezers, using a chain link (13 links/inch) and wire for pins. Has a 0.3mm/.010" diameter hole for the pin. Some helpful advice from a customer: "Tested and will pull a minimum of a 10 car Nn3 train, and possibly 20+. They should pull 15+ standard N cars as well. They bolt right onto the stock hole for Microtrains cars. You must shorten the mounting screw for flat cars, and gondolas. Use .010 brass wire from K&S Special Shapes for the pins. Flatten the wire at one end so that it does not fall through. Great design for detail fanatics."
Because of their small size and fine detail, Frosted Ultra Detail is the preferred material. Clean with soapy water or alcohol before painting with acrylics.
