Product Description
A little-known historical curiosity, Sweden maintained a low-key nuclear weapons development program from the 1940s until the early 1970s, considering building a small arsenal of atomic weapons to deter attacks from the USSR or other powers against the neutral nation.

However, while it formulated fairly sophisticated plans for their production and military use, including preliminary weapon designs as early as the mid 1950s, various political and economic factors prevented the program from making any headway, and it was cancelled long before any hardware would be built, or any atomic testing take place.

But, luckily, thanks to publically available technical information, a Swedish nuclear device is now available for your scale modelling needs!

This bomb, with size and casing shape taken from A Swedish National Defense Research Institute (FOA) study diagram circa 1955, represents a projected 4-500 kg gravity bomb of 20 kiloton yield, intended to equip aircraft such as the SAAB A-32 Lansen, or the planned (but also never built) supersonic nuclear bomber, the SAAB A-36.

Available in 1/48 and 1/72 scale.
