SaHeMo (Safe Helmet Mount for GoPro)

Mounting a GoPro or any other compatible action camera to your helmet can result in serious injuries - especially for action sports like Paragliding, Base-jumping or flying a Wingsuit.
Therefor I created this simple, yet functional thing that will set your GoPro loose if f.e. a line is tangled around it.

Yes, you may loose your camera in such an event - but this may actually save your life!

Of course, you can attach a thin cord to secure the camera :)

What you need

• this model :)
• 2 magnets 3 x 20mm (f.e. https://www.supermagnete.ch/scheibenmagnete-neodym/scheibenmagnet-durchmesser-20mm-hoehe-3mm-neodym-n45-vernickelt_S-20-03-N)
• strong SuperGlue, GorillaGlue etc.
• a spare nut & screw, either from an unused mount (nut can be pressed out easily with the screw) or buy it online (f.e. http://www.dx.com/p/justone-j009-universal-mount-bolt-nut-screw-for-suptig-gopro-2-3-3-black-silver-5-pcs-319393)
• GoPro mounting tape (3M VHB, f.e. https://de.aliexpress.com/item/10sheets-lot-3M-VHB-5608A-100mmx100mm-Acrylic-Foam-Double-Sided-Attachment-Extremely-Strong-Adhesive-Tape/2025811560.html)

Assembly

• roughen the surfaces of both parts where the magnets will be glued
• glue the upper magnet first (important!)
• when dry, lay some cling film over the magnet and let the 2nd magnet snap to it
• apply glue to the lower part around the hole
• press the lower part against the upper part so there's a perfect fit
• when dry, use a knife or screwdriver to separate the pieces
• glue the nut in its hole
• attach double-sided tape to bottom surface of lower part
• snap upper and lower parts together
• attach your camera
• clean your helmet thoroughly 
• remove protection film from double-sided tape and place it on your helmet, press firmly
• you're DONE!
