A ring made from high resolution 3d printed wax and lost wax casting, hand polished to a smooth finish. Features a 1.1 - 1.9 mm thick band, overall width 4.0 - 14.0 mm.
A moment is an intersection of two crossed paths. But how long does a moment last; seconds, hours, years? Life is a series of long and short moments. Life throws us together, life takes us apart. That said, we know moments come and moments go. Should we live in fear of time — or is “the end” a concept that not always comes to fruition? Perhaps a moment can last forever.
The together apart ring was based off a sketch of mine, of two rabbits perched on a finger. This ring is an adaptation of the original rabbit ring, playing on the hard geometric edge and the rounded interior, while attempting to create a more three dimensional object. I wanted each rabbit to have their own distinct band, with both the rabbits and the bands converging together. At the point of convergence there is also a moment of break. I engraved the x branding on the back to indicate this moment. The rabbits were meticulously crafted using digital sculpting and handmade sketches. The ring is made using parametric computer algorithms, which allows the design to adapt across all ring sizes with every detail staying meaningful.
