An HO scale model of an Austin-Western 99M motor grader. This design was made circa 1940-45. After then the frame, cab, and hood were redesigned even though the model designation did not change. The "Master 99" was ahead of its time regarding the use of hydraulics and all wheel drive. The competitors like Caterpillar, Galion, Adams, and Allis-Chalmers were rear wheel drive, and used a power take off and gears for moving the ring and some accessories. It also had all wheel steer. The doors are printed on pegs attached to the cab so grader could be built with the doors open or closed. The doors and pegs need to be carefully clipped, removed, and glued. Be careful clipping and filing the pegs. The material is very brittle. The model is designed with the air cleaner inlet attached to the frame in front of the cab. It should be carefully nipped off and glued in the hole closest to the the cab. The other hole is for an exhaust pipe.
