Derailleur Hanger 2012-13 Salsa Horsethief & Spear

Made By

Product Description

This is an UNTESTED, UNVERIFIED model of the hanger used by Salsa in their 2012~13 model year Horsthief and Spearfish products.

This featured the not-so-common Maxle 12 x 144 rear through axle. Salsa dropped the Maxle in subsequent year products and is consequently difficult to find a replacement hanger. When it is available, the price point is typically doulbe that of most DH parts. The scarcity and pricing were both motivating factors in creating this model.

The reasoning for depositing the model here with Shapeways is for general review and testing by others to refine the part for actual use. The part should be CNC'd out of a solid block for structural integrity. Printed parts would only be useful for test fitting and modelling adjustment prior to shipping the actual file for CNC work. NEVER attempt to use a printed part due to the fact it is integral to the rear axle assembly and therefore unfit for actual use.
