The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a family of single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole fighters. The fifth-generation combat aircraft is designed to perform ground-attack and air-superiority missions. It has three main models: the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) variant, the F-35B short take-off and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant, and the F-35C carrier-based catapult-assisted take-off but arrested recovery (CATOBAR) variant. The F-35D is a potential upgrade to the F-35A being considered by the Air Force.
This scale concept was created as a custom build for a customer. Some features of the actual Lightning II are kept, but major changes include the trapezoidal wing and blended rudders and elevators. The engine gimbal also is re-designed, giving what would appear to be thrust-vectoring capability if this was an actual variant in the field. There are other concept variants of the Lightning II that I may be looking into creating in the future. Enjoy!
