A highly detailed pair of cufflinks combining the "Ouroboros" and "Triquetra" symbols...
The "Ouroboros", an ancient motif depicting a serpent perpetually devouring itself, with its Origins in Ancient Egyptian iconography, where it symbolised the embodiment of the ever-lasting sun-god Atum, was later adopted by Gnosticism, to serve as a representative of many broad concepts such as time, life and the eternal cycle of creation.
The "Triquetra" is an ancient Celtic symbol, dating back to as early as 500 BC which symbolizes "the Triune Goddess" pertaining to three-phase moon worship and encompassing underlining concepts such as mother nature, eternity and, like the Ouroboros, the endless cycle of life, death and rebirth".
It is believed to have been used as a rune of protection and was later re-envisioned by Irish Christians as a representation of the Holy Trinity.
