Conion C-100 Custom Replacement Cassette Door
For the Conion C100 (C-100) and aka variant boomboxes such as Helix, Clairtone, etc.

This is a "custom" door (read more below for difference between it and factory original design).  This door will replace the original door on your boombox.  If yours is broken or the hinge hooks are worn beyond repair allowing door to pop off when it shouldn't, this may be what you need to restore proper operation (provided the oval hinge pins in the cabinet remains in serviceable condition and not rounded out).  This is the door only.  The internal frame bracket is a separate part which you can also order separately from our store.  This item is the plastic door only.  It does not include any trim, hardware or glass which you will need to source separately to complete the installation.

This door is ideal if you are missing the entire factory door and wish to install a replacement with a metal trim below the glass.  If you have the original door and have all of the original hardware, trim and glass and only need the plastic door, you may wish to consider our "regular" C100 door, also available in our store.  It is cheaper.  This product has a recess below the window to accomodate the metal trim so you will need to have the factory trim, get one made up, or purchase one in our hardware kit.  If you wish to have a door without the trim recess, we offer a version (in our store) as well (ver. 2).

How is this door different from factory (orig design door)?:  The factory door has a brushed metal trim covering the bottom part of the door.  If you have this trim, it will fit this door (or we will have a limited number of replacement trim pieces for sale separately through our direct website).  Additionally, the orig door will only work with the original glass because the factory glass has a unique matching shape on top and bottom edge to allow window to snap in place.  Broken windows are no longer available from factory and is virtually impossible to get made in that shape.  This door will allow you to install a flat piece of replacement plexiglass instead which you can get made at your local plastic store (or from online vendors).  We are working on offering pre-made glass with beveled edges of the proper size, and holes drilled.   This door also has pre-molded holes so that the new glass can be fastened, without the need to "snap-in" like the factory glass would.  The holes are designed for screw nut inserts to be either pressed in, or heat melted in.  The following parts and hardware from original factory door is compatible with and can be transferred over to this door:  Factory door bracket, door eject torsion spring, bracket torsion springs.   If the factory door bracket is missing, we offer that in our store as well.  This door also has built in spring perches which when installed along with out custom door frame bracket (also available in our store) will allow small compressions springs such as those from ball point pens to be installed instead of the factory springs, although the factory springs will work as well.

Material choices:  We are recommending this door in Professional plastic only because detail rendering is superior to the other plastic that shapeways offers, we tried them both.  If you don't care about that and just want a functioning door, you can try it in versatile plastic.  It is much cheaper but some details such as text and horizontal stripe will not come out as good.  Both materials are a bit rough, like sandblasted finish, but the cheaper "versatile" plastic is much rougher.  Perhaps you'll want to smooth them out with fine sandpaper before painting, that's up to you depending upon that look you wish to obtain.  The bottom line is we believe you will be much happier with this product made with Professional Plastic.

Finish:  All products have a matte or rougher finish and not smooth.  You may have to sand and polish if you wish to have a smooth finish.  The materials that are offered in smooth finishes aren't flexible enough or suitable for door printing and may break when installing so we are not offering that material.  Black can probably be used as is.  Grey is probably more closer to original but it might be dyed and if any product finishing is attempted, might no longer be grey.  White (versatile plastic) is much cheaper and is white in color so it is best painted.  

Fitment:  We printed and tried this door and found it to be a functional replacement with little issues.  However, due to tight tolerances, there is a possibility that it may be a little tight (or loose).  Looser shouldn't be a problem but if tighter, you may have to sand a little along the edges for a perfect fit.  In no way should it be grossly under/over sized.  If that is the case, check measurements of the door you receive with the specifications... it should not deviate by much.  Printed specs is intended to be 128mm x 34.7mm x 79.5mm

Other Parts Required:  This item includes ONLY the plastic door.  

• An original (or our custom frame) is required.  See our other products for the custom frame.
• A small peice of plexiglass is required if you wish to have a window.  You can source this locally.
• 4-40 screws to fasten window in place, if a window is desired.
• 4-40 screw nut inserts are required to allow screws to hold fast. 
• Factory torsion eject spring or custom bent ones are necessary for door eject to work properly.
• Factory torsion springs are required for the cassette chamber bracket, or simple compression springs such as ball point pen springs when door is installed along without our custom frame bracket.
