We present the 2014 challenge tool competition's runner-up design, by Etherealicer, from the Multitool.org
The tool is shaped like the head of a pair of pliers and has a 4mm hex bit driver towards it's tip (the Victorinox Cybertool hex bit size).
The finished tool requires a tiny "Verbatim Store-N-Go" USB flash drive (not included), to be installed into the tools body. Care must be taken when attempting to purchase the correct USB flash drive. as Verbatim makes several different Store-N-Go models that look quite similar, but will not fit. Also some ebay sellers even use the right picture, but for the wrong item, which only increases confusion.
A small, tight fitting, dowel pin will need to be fashioned (approx 1.8mm in diameter and 3.8mm long), from wood, plastic, brass, etc, to retain the USB flash drive in place, using the small hole in the centre of the tool.
The tool can be secured to a keychain or lanyard with a small split ring, a No.2 McGizmo clip, or similar 25mm gate clip, using the 4mm hex hole.
This model is designed to be printed in Stainless Steel or one of it's variants.
Although all care has been taken to ensure this model is correctly sized, due to variations in the printing process, some filing may be required to ensure correct fitment of the hex and USB slot.
