Also known as the light frigate or corvette, the E4 reflected the Klingon design theories before the General War that they needed light and heavy frigates but not a light cruiser or destroyer. Early in its career, it commonly accompanied the D6 heavy cruiser. The ship is the equivalent of the diminutive Kzinti, Lyran, and Hydran frigate classes and hence standard for the Gamma Sector of the Alpha Octant. A typical "small ship for small missions" the E4 was a common patrol and convoy escort ship but rapidly proved sub-par for the savage battles of the General War.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
