Product Description
HO Scale model of the Dominion Atlantic Railway (later Canadian Pacific Railway and Upper Canada Railway Society) solarium/lounge car "Nova Scotia".  The car was originally built in 1896 by the Pullman Company as "Sanspariel" for the DAR, and was modified over the years.  The car is a survivor of the World War 1 Halifax Explosiion, where it sheltered the railways General Manager who was then able to radio for help and to stop other trains coming into the blast damaged area. The car is modelled to appear as it did in the late 1940's/early 1950's when it was in Dominion Atlantic Railway Service as Nova Scotia.  The car in similar condition transitioned into CPR District Superintendant's car 7, and then to the Upper Canada Railway Society for use in excursions in the 1960's around southern Ontario.  After this, the car wound up as part of the Ossawippi Restaurant in Orillia, and when the restaurant closed and the cars were disperesed, it moved to the John Street Roundhouse and the Toronto Railway Museum, where the long term plans are to restore the car to a condition similar to that of the model. The Roof and End Railings are also required to complete this car.  They are available at the following links:
To finish the car, you will require the skills to paint and decal the car.  The car can be decaled for DAR using the decals from Black Cat Publishing - http://www.blackcatdecals.com/product/darpass-dh-dominion-atlantic-passenger-cars-dulux-gold/
Other Parts needed include whatever brake/underbody equipement you want to represent.  Reference photos show a variety of battery boxes and water tanks along with the brakes beneath the car.

At a minimum, a set of trucks and a set of coach steps for each corner is required: https://www.walthers.com/pass-car-steps-strght-4

For the trucks, use a 0.25" square piece of styrene in the square opening to provide a drillable mounting point.  I used Walthers Trucks - https://www.walthers.com/commonwealth-straight-equalized-trucks-w-outside-bearing-arch-solid-bearings-1-pair
