Product Description

This is a 3D representation of M.C. Escher's Impossible cube. This necklace was inspired by an Autistic student in one of the classes that I Volunteer and Sub in. There is a group called Art To Go that travels to classes in our Distric. 2 Years ago they were showing and explaning art by M.C. Escher. When the students were asked if they could tell us why it was impossible. He raised his hand and was called on. He said "that it was impossible because it was flat." The Art To Go ladys and the teachers including my self looked puzzled. He said "it is impossible because paper cannot be a box, its flat." I would have never looked at it in a completely literal since like that. So because is he was right. I took on the challenge of making a physical impossible cube. After a few months I finaly made one out of straws and tape. So that the students could physicly see why it was impossible. After 2 years of working on ideas to bring a warable version to life Shapeways was there to make my design a reality!! Never belive that something is impossible for you or someone you love! It may take a ton of patience, time and effort but it can be done!!!
