Parts in "Strong & Flexible" material to complete the model of the cruise ship "MS Arkona", the former German "Traumschiff" as seen on TV, in 1:200 scale. Due to the large size of the model, the hull needs to be printed in two parts which are to be joined to complete the model.
To complete the cruise ship, six different sets of 3D prints are needed:
- Arkona, Hull - Front End
- Arkona, Hull - Rear End (this set)
- Arkona, Superstructure
- Arkona, Details
- Arkona, Propulsion
- Arkona, Tender
Size of the completed model:
length: 82.2 cm
width: 12.6 cm
The
MS Arkona was originally built as the
MS Astor in 1981 and renamed
MS Arkona in 1985. It is most well-known for its appearance in the German TV Series "Traumschiff" (in 1983/84) and the DFF TV series "Luv und Lee" (in 1990).
The
MS Arkona sailed from 1985 onwards under a GDR flag until the reunification in 1990, mostly in the Baltic and the Caribbean around Cuba. In 2002, it was renamed
MS Astoria and later sold again, being renamed
Quest for Glory and then
Saga Pearl II.
Technical data of the original:
length: 164.4 m
width: 22.6 m
propulsion: 4 diesel engines of 3300 kW
The model is designed in 1:200 scale. It is set up to be built as a functional model with radio control. However, it can also be built as a static model for display. In addition to the propulsion system and steering, the bow thruster can be made operational
. An assembly manual, a set of drawings and further informations can be found on my website (download section):http://www.microboathobby.com/
