Product Description
Prototype for a 'radical' fighter design in response to a USAAC specification of 1939. This offering from Vultee won the design stage but suffered from its dependence on an unproven engine and trying to incorporate every possible innovation. By the time development was abandoned in 1944 the aircraft's gross weight had increased by more than 50% and the performance was unexceptional.
This model has a spherical recess for mounting it on a 6mm BB.
