In my experience, a 2mm notch in WSF produces a tight fit on a 2mm shaft, and requires reaming to give a smooth running fit. Depending on the application, different fits might be needed, meaning that different hole diameters should be used. Rather than reaming to fit, it would be useful to know the right diameter to put into the drawing to begin with. This will allow accurate bearings to be printed for various shaft diameters, as well as items which must fit a shaft snugly.

This is a test gauge to determine the best fit for 3D printed holes of nominal 1.5mm, 2mm, and 1/8" diameter. Holes and notches are in 0.05mm increments, from +0.00mm to +0.25mm for each size. The notches are located so that the shaft should be exactly flush with the outside edge of the plate when it fits properly. The plate is 2mm thick, which seems reasonable for shafts of this size. Significantly thicker or thinner objects might need slightly different hole diameters for the same fit.

While this is designed for White, Strong, Flexible material, it could also be used for other suitable materials to determine the best hole diameter for a given application. Several materials should be printable, including Detail, Ultra Detail, Ultra Frosted Detail, Sandstone, and most of the metals.
