Product Description

Like the Golden be(e) pendant, this medal is based on the shape named "Golden bee" and its very special possible dissection.

The name Golden "b" was given by Karl Scherer. The "b" shaped figure can be dissected into two similar smaller but non-congruent(!) parts. The (square root of the) Golden ratio can be found in the figure several times.

Please refer to

On one medal side, the dissection into two similar - but non-congruent parts - is shown. The other side shows a pattern which is the result of a recursive dissection process. Please refer to German maths journal Wurzel 9/10 2015 for details.

This medal and the same medal scaled by the factor sqrt((sqrt(5) + 1) / 2) can be put together to form an even larger Golden bee. Of course, gold is the prefered material when printing it!
