Product Description
-This is a drill bit used to cut a deeper crown in the tip of a brass or steel airsoft barrel.
-Starts at 5.8mm and goes up to 7mm over a 30mm run. Will yield a much deeper crown than previously possible.
-Directions:
Put this crowner in a drill and cover it in lapping paste & silicone oil. THK 28 micron paste is recomended. Spin and insert into the end of your barrel and allow the barrel to rotate in your hand slowly. Reapply lapping paste and silicone oil several times until the inside is coated. Pull the barrel over the crowner as it spins untill resistance is met. The barrel will heat up very quickly and must be cooled before cutting can continue; the 3d printed crowner will not handle heat as well as the barrel. Have ice cubes on hand and melt them over the tip of your barrel while the crowner is cooling. The water will not effect the lapping process. If the lap gets to hot it will begin forming ridges from the tip of the barrel, these ridges can make insertation difficult so avoid excessive heat.
Continue adding lapping paste and oil. You will see the crowner begin to go farther into the barrel as the internal diameter is enlarged.
