Product Description
This is a conversion set for AFV club's 1/350 scale Gato class Submarine 1942, kit # SE73510. This conversion allows you to create the USS Tunny, a post-World War II GUPPY conversion that was further converted into the first cruise missile submarine. Carrying two Regulus nuclear missles, the USS Tunny's first nuclear detterence patrols were carried out starting in the late 1950s and carried on into the mid 60s. The Regulus missles had a 500 mile range and could carry a 2 megaton yield warhead.
This conversion set comes with all the relevant sonar blisters and domes and periscopes, the modified deck and Regulus hangar, the GUPPY conversion sail, and two Regulus missiles.
