A pendant based on the design of the labyrinth at the cathedral in Chartres, France. The original dates from the 13th century. The labyrinth contains eleven "circuits" about the center. Walking it was a means of inspiration, enlightenment, repentance, and contemplation.
If you look carefully at the picture of the pendant, you'll see that it looks a bit uneven. This is because the walls of the labyrinth are disconnected from each other, held by thin stems; it makes the pendant "springy" even though it's made of hard metal. The brass and bronze versions jiggle a bit; the silver version is harder.
I could make the pendant bigger to remove the springiness, but then it would cost up to five times as much! Instead, I offer it as it is: a maze, a clockwork spring, an image in two dimensions that aches to spread into three.
At 50mm (2") across, it's one of the largest pendants available in this shop. If you're looking for a big pendant to attract attention from a distance, this will do it!
