This model is a close representation of the early (2' x 4') cars used on the Duffield Bank Railway by Heywood. The Heywood style couplers are nominally functional (they will need to be tested for actual operation and may be semi-locked into position by wax residue when received). The four axleboxes should be clipped off using flush-cutting side cutters and should have their mounting pins shortened to fit the holes in the frame. These holes are nominally 1mm in diameter and may need to be enlarged to fit the pins. The model is designed to use the Heywood wheelsets also available in our store, but the axleboxes should be capable of being modified to fit any 26mm axle length commercial wheelset. Hornby 12.5mm and 14.1mm wheelsets should be most appropriate (the ideal size would be about 13.2mm).
