Product Description
A simple battery-electric locomotive model in 009, designed to fit the low cost Kato 11-103 or 11-104 four wheel N-gauge chassis e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kato-11-103-4-Wheel-Chassis/dp/B0003KCPIC/ The chassis will need to be cut down (simply saw off the ends) and some minor fettling may be needed to make the print fit. Design is based on locomotives produced in the UK by companies such as Clayton, but similar machines were made in many other countries, typically used in mines. https://railway-news.com/directories/clayton-equipment-ltd The size of the chassis means that this model is at the large end of the scale range for such machines. Smaller variants can be found elsewhere on Shapeways, but the chassis required tend to be more expensive. My print, as photo, was made in versatile plastic, to represent a well-worn mine loco. Printing in fine detail plastic would provide a smoother surface. I added a coupling hook and a very basic driver after finishing.
