Heroes of Computational Physics
Albert Einstein stands as a giant of 20th century physics. His discoveries helped transition thought from the classical approach that had dominated previous centuries to what we only call "modern physics" because it is so universally-accepted. Notably, he was not only interested in the science itself, but the meaning and philosophy behind it---a thoughtfulness that scientists today would do well to emulate. While not a computational physicist, much of the current work in computational physics would not have been possible without Einstein's numerous contributions.
This model is a shadowgram of a portrait of Albert Einstein. From the back, it looks completely flat, but the front is raised such that light traveling through the piece generates an image of Einstein. There is a convenient hole at the top of the plate from which to hang this piece, placed so that it will be perfectly level.
