Product Description
This ventilation grommet insert fits into a 50 millimeter (2 inch) diameter hole in a flat topped material. Ventillation is provided by gaps between stacked plates. The walls of the insert extend downward into the hole from the bottom of the surface flange by 0.5 inches (12.7 mm). The grommet can be held in place in the hole using glue, caulk, or mechanical fasteners.
Such a grommet can be used in various projects for air exchange or interesting visual effects. In electronics equipment it can be used to allow hot air to escape the top of an enclosed chasis or to allow internal lights to shine out of the enclosure. In reptile or insect cages it can be used to assist in air circulation and exchange.
Use a grommet to improve the appearance of your hole or to prevent large things from passing through it.
