I designed this wheel hub to fit a specific size of radial bearing, and work with lego technic axles. The applicable bearings all have a 5mm inner diameter (aside from the latest 3/16") to attatch to Lego axles, and can be purchased in 9mm or 8mm outer diameter, (MR95 or MR85, for medium or small hubs, respectively) depending on preference and availablillity. The set comes with an extended version of the Lego technic "Steering CV Joint Axle" (92906 on Bricklink) and fits it's counterpart, the technic "Steering CV Joint" (32494 on Bricklink) for the flexibility of having Drive, Steering, and Suspension in a small set of wheels, without the wobble of stock Lego hubs. Each piece of the set can be easily clipped apart with a hobby knife, or some thin scissors. The purpose is to include both left and right hubs, and drive axles, while keeping the cost lower since number of items is a factor in shapeway's pricing. The surface they're attatched at isn't vital, so just clean off whatever excess you like to.
PS: make sure you order the correct size of bearings for your Hub.

Update: I've recieved my first version and found that it was difficult to set the axles and bearings into their respective places, so I've submitted a new model with adjusted geometry, and a lighter, more compact build.

Update 2: After some thought and re-measuring, I found that 3/16" inner diameter is a much tighter fit to lego axles, and have now included a funcioning model for R166 (3/16"x3/8"x1/8" radial) bearings that function much more precisely, and allow improved use with original lego as well.
