Product Description
Based on an image in the 1915 R. Hudson catalog, this very small portable tramway car was begging to be modeled! Designed to allow the ad-hoc transport of materials in confined mine shafts, this tiny car has 8" diameter wheels and is only two feet long. In the USA, these cars were often known as bucket cars. This model is designed to operate on 16.5mm track and is usable in both 1:32 and 1:24 scale, although it is nominally designed at 1:32 scale. In 1:32 it has 8" wheels and is about 24" long, in Gn15 it has 6" wheels and is about 18" long. Both sizes are roughly proportional to the single image shown in the catalog. The wheels and axles of this model are designed to be free-rotating, but may arrive adhered in place by remnant wax from the manufacturing process. This max may be removed with care by application of hot tap water (not boiling) or some solvents as described in the Shapeways forums. Provided in a set of four for economy.
