Product Description

For the iD Tech 3D Model Contest, I created a Minecraft inspired mushroom with a caterpillar sitting on top of it. I used Tinkercad to create this model. I used a rectangular prism to create the base of the mushroom and small cubes to make the body of the mushroom. I used individual blocks to create the main body instead of using rectangular prisms, because I wanted to be more precise when creating the mushroom. I changed the majority of the body to red and changed a few areas to white to make them appear like dots on the mushroom. When creating the caterpillar, I used a cube to make the head and then systematically went down in size until I had reached the tail. I made the caterpillar blue to contrast with the red of the mushroom.

When creating this model, I was inspired by the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. I loved the book when I was younger and decided to take a childish turn to the caterpillar sitting on top of a mushroom. Instead of creating on older caterpillar, I created a childish one, as it reminds me of my childhood and I hope that others would print it for that same reason. A model such as this one would be perfect for someone to put on their desk to remind them of their childhood.
