*from Starboard->Port: Pensacola x2, Portland, Indianapolis
The CA24 Pensacola and CA25 Salt Lake City are part of the first class of USN "treaty cruisers" and commissioned early 1928; mainly distinguishable by the triple 8" superfiring over the duals, and the flushdeck hull.
The Portlands' (CA33 Portland and CA35 Indianapolis) design we're improved from the previous Northampton class. Indianapolis was designed as a flagship thus have an extended forecastle deck for extra crew accommodations. Note CA33 has a higher forward funnel than CA35 Indianapolis.
