Product Description
Geodesics, or straight lines, on cones have strange properties. For instance, geodesics can intersect themselves and there can be multiple geodesics between two points. The 'cone' series of prints were inspired by the Geometry textbook, "Experience Geometry" by Henderson and Tamina.
The cone angle is defined as the anlge we obtain if we cut the cone vertically and lay it out flat. The a cone's angle determines how many times a geodesic can interesect itself. The cone angle and the relative position of the points determines how many geodesics connect them.
This model demonstrates that a geodesic on a 90 degree cone will intersect itself once.
