Product Description
The Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet is a twin-engine, carrier-capable, multirole fighter aircraft variant based on the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. The Super Hornet is a larger and more advanced derivative of the F/A-18C and D Hornet. It features an internal 20 mm M61 rotary cannon and can carry air-to-air missiles and air-to-surface weapons. Additional fuel can be carried in up to five external fuel tanks and the aircraft can be configured as an airborne tanker by adding an external air refueling system.
This has been my most complex design to date. There are several complex geometries to the design of the Super Hornet that enable it's air superiority, and made it very challenging to design. This model will feature another new addition to my collection of aircraft; weapons and stores. I am creating a universal pylon system inspired by the SUU/BDU series of pylons/rails the real military uses that will allow you to add any of my weapons and stores to any of my aircraft of the same scale.
