Rick Sternbach's USS Voyager concept, the ship was quite different from the Intrepid class we all know and love: he wanted a vessel different from the usual Starfleet design aesthetics, much like the USS Defiant did in Deep Space Nine. The ship was unofficially named the USS Maximilian. This is the third iteration of the design, with an AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System), a pod similar to that of the Nebula class.
The hull and nacelles are the same as the USS Palomino for all the four variants.
