Product Description
One HO scale dynamic hatch kit for a 1980+ built SD40T-2 equipped with extended range dynamic braking and details for vent and early or late exhaust hatch. Holes for dynamic brake fans are sized for Cannon & Company fans.
Designed as a direct replacement for Athearn 1980+ built SD40T-2s, this kit addresses some of the dimensional shortcomings of the Athearn part. Some modification of the Athearn shell is required to install this part.
Note: This part features an oversized hood radius designed to match the radius used on the Athearn long hood. If you are planning to replace the radiator section of the long hood with Cannon & Company roof stock or you are scratchbuilding a model, this hatch will not match the prototype. For a part designed to match the prototype's 4" hood radius and be compatible with Cannon & Company parts, you need this part:
