HO scale 20pc 33" Allen Paper Wheel Inserts

The inserts can unfortunately not be sold anymore due to Shapeways needed minimum thickness. If followed they will be so thick that they will protrude too much from the wheelrim. Sorry about this as we tries to find a solution.

HO scale Allen paper wheel inserts. Wheels with paper centers were used on passenger cars in the time period approx. 1870-1910. Fits Kadee 33” wheel sets. The set contains 16 pieces + 4 spares. Enough for 8 wheelsets. Before fitting the insert thoroughly clean it in denatured alcohol and then water with some dishwashing fluid to get rid of the process wax. At this time also clean the wheel sets. Glue it to the wheel with gap-filling CA glue. I take the nozzle on the CA glue bottle directly and apply thinly with glue between the axle and rim. After the glue has dried the wheel can then be painted with enamel or acrylic paint and weathered to taste. For a truck to accompany please also see my 6-wheel wood beam passenger truck.
