The Replacement You Need If your 3rd Gen Mini F55 or F56 Key Fob is damaged or just not looking as great as it used to, you can swap the plastic casing with this Custom 3D Printed replacement and keep rolling in style. This Mini Key Cover is a replacement for the original larger disc shaped cover. Look at your vehicle's owner's manual for instructions on how to detach the original cover from the key itself by first removing the back of the original key. After removing the back, the disc can be pulled out of the key, and you'll be ready to install this replacement. I have no afiliation with BMW what-so-ever , other than that I own a Mini JCW. Mini F56 Key cover as replacement for the original larger disc shaped cover. The F55 , 5 doors Mini should also fit because the keys are the same. Please take a look at this website in how to attach it to the original 3th generation Mini Key. Take a look at revision 3 also , its less difficult attaching because it slides in, this rev 1 snaps in and if not carefull it could break. http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/f56-hatch-talk-2014/264983-the-new-key-fob-for-the-f56-13.html#post4194276 If the new key cover is "snaped in" do not try to remove it by pulling up the end-part, it will break, especially the metallic plastic. Remove it by lifting up the middle flat part and simultaneous slide it towards the rounded top. There is no need to remove the back of the key-containing MINI, although it would help. Removing the old original disc shaped Key ring: Look at Mini's Owners manual at page 34 (opening and closing) in how to detach Mini’s original disc shaped one from the key itself by first removing the back of the original key. After removing the back the disc can be pulled out of the key. ALSO NOTE: I am not making this into a Business, its original design was intended for personal use, and this is a one time only.
