Product Description

Who goes first? Who goes second and last? You can answer these questions with this set of dice for two or three players.  To decide who goes first in a game, each player takes a die and rolls it agains the other player(s). Whoever rolls the highest number goes first, the second highest goes second, and the lowest goes last. There are never ties.

Die A is numbered {1, 6, 8, 12, 13,17}, Die B is numbered {2, 4, 9, 11, 15, 16}, and Die C is numbered {3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 18}.

Pairwise, each die has equal chances of losing and winning against another die, so if two players use these dice, it doesn't matter who takes which die.  When all three of them are rolled together, each of the six permutations of player order has an equal chance of occuring.  This allows for a completely fair way of determining who goes first, second, and third in a game without the need for tie breakers.

They can also be used to determine pairs among four players. Have any three people roll the dice and let the people who rolled the two highest numbers be paired together, while the player who rolled the lowest number is paired with the person who didn't roll.

Note that these dice are not labeled the same as the set of Three Non-Transitive Dice. These dice come in a light cage that can be cut away. Each die is 15mm in length.
