Product Description
Tholians are a crystalline species that once ruled the M81 Galaxy. When the Tholian Will was overthrown by the Seltorians, some small groups of Tholians fled to other galaxies. One small group of Tholians reached the Milky Way, where they took over the easternmost part of Klingon space, the part that originally bordered the Romulans. They called this the Tholian Holdfast. The Tholians (who considered carbon-based life to be lower than bacteria) enslaved Klingon colonies in the region and kept the Klingons at bay by their (at the time) superior technology. Their foes, the Seltorians, arrived in the Milky Way Galaxy later.

The Tholian ships seen earlier were all variations of the Patrol Corvette, a frigate sized ship designed as a heavy police unit. The Tholian Dyson Sphere that arrived in our galaxy was not fitted with a military shipyard, but it had facilities to maintain and produce police ships. In the middle of the General War, a squadron of Tholian military ships arrived from the M81 Galaxy. These were designed from the start as military warships and were quite capable in those roles.

When the Neo-Tholians arrived, they cannibalized their destroyers and frigates to get their cruisers up to full operational status. The empty hulls remained at Tholia and were often considered for rebuilding. One of the rebuilding plans was this version, adding a collar to the existing structure to create a heavier ship better able to survive in the latter half of the General War. Work was begun on such a conversion but records are unclear if it was ever completed.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
