The WYN Star Cluster stands as a huge beacon at the crossroads of the galaxy. Marking the point where the Klingon, Lyran, and Kzinti borders meet, the cluster itself was long considered uninhabitable. Surrounded by a dense cloud of highly radioactive dust, it was assumed that the entire cluster was saturated with deadly radiation. All residents of the WYN Cluster are immigrants from other species and empires.
The WYN fleet had a problem, that being a lack of ships with no shipyard to build more. While the occasional windfall of an enemy ship defecting to the cluster was welcome, such arrivals were too rare to build the strength needed. The WYNs resorted to having secret agents outside of the cluster buy standard cargo freighters and (using fraudulent documentation) bring them into the cluster. There, the WYNs set to work with their notorious "factory unauthorized" upgrades, enlarging the engines, filling the cargo pods with warships systems, and mounting weapons in external blisters fastened to the hulls. This ship reflects a standard Class-I small freighter modified for use as a warship. Such a design could never survive in the galaxy at large, but fighting radiation-disabled invading starships within sight of their own repair yards made this a workable proposition, and the WYNs built dozens of such ships.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
