Akula II (Akula 2). Modern Russian Navy nuclear powered fast attack submarine. Akula 2 is 3 m longer than Akula 1. Increased space was used for sound quieting. At launch, Akula 2 was the first Russian submarine to be quiter than the latest US submarines (at that time the 688i).
K-157 Vepr is the only ship in the Akula 2 class. The other 2 planned ships were used to build the Borei class SSBN.
Model is 2400, full hull with a .060" dia mounting hole.
