3125 Scale Hydran Buffalo Scout (DWS) CVN

The Hydrans are an unusual species that live on the far side of the Klingon Empire, along the edge of the galaxy. They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans, and were conquered by those empires at one point, only to drive the invaders out decades later. Hydrans breathe methane and live on cold type-S gas giants on silicate continents floating on liquid methane oceans.

All empires found the pre-war frigate-based scouts (which were not expected to take part in battles, only to detect approaching enemy fleets) proved unsurvivable in direct combat. All empires experimented with larger scouts, usually using a destroyer or (as in this case) war destroyer hull. The Buffalo Scout was far more survivable than the Hunter-Scout. Some Buffalo Scouts were conversions from Buffalo Scouts or Buffalo Hunters, some were built new using unfinished Buffalo Hunter hulls. The ship carries two Stringer-2 fighters for local defense and self-protection. Known names include Tireless, Torbay, and Mystic Seer.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
